This so-called crackling Diwali attraction, which was supposed to blow up audiences laughing but it turned out to be as disappointing as a soggy pathaka! Sigh!!!
Boring, crude, stupid and slapstick– Golmaal Returns. Gives you stupid and lame gags like “Lara Dutta’s name would become Lara Lara if she married Brian Lara.” Oh God Gimme A Break! The entire film has this kind of dumb humor – Three guys lying on top of each other on a bed implying they are caught in a gay act, guy flying in the air and falling over his crotch on a pointed rock, or someone poking two pairs of scissors in someone’s butt, electrocuting someone so that he flies in the air with a jerk, you name it and they have the most stupid gags ever. I laughed only once in the entire film. That tells you how dumb it was.
Golmaal Returns is plainly – all hype no show! Poor script and dialogues could not do ……..

I have to admit, I watched this movie out of sheer curiosity. For that real experience, I really wanted to see this movie in a local small cinema hall, but I couldn’t get tickets and eventually had to watch it in a multiplex. So if you want to watch this movie, watch it as I did and you will be really surprised -
ONE - Go to the cinema hall without any expectations. Take it for granted that this Karzzz will be nowhere close to the original one. TWO - Go there just to see Himesh keeping up with his stardom and how he carries an entire film on his shoulder.

All hype no show – Wish I could give this one line review of Drona. Disappointing fare from Goldie Behl.
Like all super hero films the story is simple – Hero fights to save the world from a villain who wants to be immortal. The only difference being, that this superhero is straight out of Indian mythology with an Indian look.
The biggest pain in the movie was Kay Kay Menon’s character Riz Raizada. Poor characterization puts Menon’s effort to waste. The character seems to be inspired by Batman’s Joker. His weird and garish wardrobe and hairstyle makes him look like a gay… really a torture.

But Ramchand Pakistani, as the name suggests, talks about an issue, which was never discussed, in both the Indian and Pakistani cinemas before – the issue of poor Dalit Hindus in ‘Muslim’ Pakistan.

The media must have reported a cold-war between Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan but nothing of the sort appeared when the two bonded well at the premiere of Drona.
Shahrukh Khan graced the occasion with wife Gauri Khan and kids and greeted the Bachchans for the premiere. The shutterbugs flashed crazy picturing the two giant actors in the industry greeting each other.

If you want to see the power of simplicity then do watch Tahaan. The story is simple, innocent and straight from heart. It reminds me of those Iranian films (read Majid Majidi) that manage to touch our heart with utmost simplicity over an issue we never care to think about.
Its a story about modern day Kashmir and Kashmiris dealing with the issues of cross border terrorism, family, security, sense of identity and life, in general. Its a simple yet philosophically and symbolically rich journey of young Tahaan who travels against all odds to get back his donkey.
If you remember Dil Se’s breathtaking cinematography, you know what to expect from cinematographer turned director Santosh Sivan. The movie is beautiful with every shot capturing the beauty of Kashmir at its raw best. Simple details of everyday life and the power of excellent screenplay delight you and keep you hooked to the story along with astonishing cinematography.
It is also a very good thriller which keeps you guessing what the possible climax could be and trust me when you reach the climax you will be surprised.

Story
Merging reality and fantasy in a movie within a movie, co-writer/director/star Ben Stiller lampoons the movie industry in ways it hasn’t been skewered since The Player and S.O.B. In Tropic Thunder, a film crew sets out to make the biggest (and most clichéd) war movie ever. But after huge budget overruns and a tantrum from the studio head (an unrecognizable Tom Cruise), the hapless English director (Steve Coogan) decides what the film needs is a lot more realism. So, he plunks his all-male cast deep down into the jungles of Southeast Asia for some on-the-spot boot camp training. What starts out as an exercise turns disastrous when they encounter REAL enemy warriors trying to do them in. The motley crew of actors include: Tugg Speedman (Stiller), a fading action hero desperate for a hit; Australian five-time Oscar winner Kirk Lazarus (Robert Downey Jr. ), who is such a method actor he undergoes a unique skin pigmentation transformation to play his character as an African-American; and Jeff Portnoy (Jack Black), star of a successful farting comedy franchise called The Fatties. Also along for the shoot is intensely serious author John “Four Leaf” Tayback (Nick Nolte), whose book the movie is based on and who may have twisted the real facts for the sake of a movie sale. The bulk of the film finds them fighting for their lives without a script in sight.

Mumbai Meri Jaan, a movie, which touches the lives of an assorted array of cosmopolitan citizens, in a way never witnessed before. Very rare in bollywood we get to see a social theme based film along with some entertainment. Having social theme as the basics of the movie, it helps people to connect to the movie immediately and convincingly. Most important it connects to the audience, rouses emotions and is technically flawless.
The movie is about the suffering of five individuals, in their lives. Kay Kay Menon aka Suresh, a Hindu extremist and has a pessimistic outlook towards the minority community. R Madhavan aka Nikhil, a current-day corporate guy, who is highly patriotic and opposes use of plastic bags and endorses public transport. Soha Ali Khan aka Rupali, quite a popular television journalist, who thinks freedom of expression, is in sensationalizing a new to sell it. Paresh Rawal aka Tukaram Patil who is an elder constable at the verge of retirement and is paired with a patrolling partner Sunil Kadam (Vijay Maurya) his young blood wants to revolt against the going on social inequality and corruption. Irrfan Khan aka Thomas, is a wandering coffee salesperson who doesn’t gain a sense of recognition in the class-driven society and has his own strange and weird ways of taking revenge from the aristocrats.
